The brief from SARS for their Bisset Street branch called for minimal visual connection with the outside, and was executed using contemporary design solutions. Large slate tiles were chosen to clad the exterior of the building, which whilst being timeless, hard wearing and largely maintenance free, provide an impression of strength and solidness - reflecting the nature of the tenant. The limited glazing and horizontal plastered and painted banding, provides relief to the tiled expanse, and the mock concrete beam overhead crowns this new look.
